2024 Northside 4th of July Parade - We can't do it without you, Northsiders!

NCC's Parade Committee Chairs and the NCC President diligently worked with City Council Members, the City Manager's Office, and CPD's Special Event Unit to arrive at a reasonable and fair solution for maintaining our Parade's historical route after faced with new challenges this year. Key components to our continued success include supplementing the detail officer requirement with volunteers willing to help keep our intersections secure.

That means, we are going to need more volunteers than ever. Please sign up to volunteer, today!

No big shock to anyone, but, we're also facing increased expenses. Donations and/or entries will help! If you've ever entertained the idea of entering your group/float idea/talent/business in the parade, this is the year to do it! To offset this variance and forge ahead with a more sustainable facilitation, we're also accepting sponsorships.

NCC remains committed to maintaining the historical route of Ashtree to Blue Rock as we know it's imperative to providing equitable access to the parade. Your outpouring of support has spoken to our long established route being crucial for accommodating parade entries, participants, and the spectators who line Hamilton Ave. If you were one of the almost 1,800 (as of 5/21/2024) signers of our petition, we can't thank you enough. Showing the city what this parade means to our community was greatly impactful on their willingness to compromise difficult details necessary for a safe execution of our parade. Reducing our historical parade route would have severely limited accessibility and effectively excluded more than half of Northside. As Northside Community Council serves the entirety of this neighborhood, without valiant efforts to preserve that we would not be upholding our mission or core values.

Northside's 4th of July Parade is more than just a routine, annual event/celebration; it's an integral part of our community's history with a tradition dating back to 1854. It’s a hallmark in Northside's history and an institution we can be proud to continue as it represents a strong celebration of inclusivity through appreciation of independence. Thank you for helping to tell the real story of our parade. This well respected occasion needs your support to continue it's path and to honor it's history of being a safe activity celebrating inclusion for all independent spirits!
