After a year of work with the city on community led opportunities to improve pedestrian safety, the first of these is ready to be deployed. Northside Community Council is excited to announce we're finally embarking on our Open Streets initiative on W Vandalia!
*Update 9/21 Construction has begun on the future site of Vandalia Point - Open Streets will only operate from Apple-Hoffner for it's final two weekends.
Saturdays & Sundays (August 26th) through October 1st, Vandalia between Hamilton & Gulow and from Apple to Hoffner will be closed to vehicular traffic. Prioritizing people over cars is part of Northside's efforts in increasing pedestrian safety - Join us in our reclaiming of the streets & promoting safe activation in our community!
As of 9/21, tentative schedule includes, but is not limited to -
- 9/30
- 9am-12pm NCC's Sustainability Committee & Keep Cincinnati Beautiful Clean Up Vandalia
- 10am Lierer's Market's Pop up Open Pickleball Court
- 10/1 Watch the Bengals w/us on the Street!
- 1pm kick off
Volunteers are needed for set up/tear down of light weight barricades, tables/chairs, pop up tent, misc supplies - otherwise you get to come hang out and have fun!
